Pizza is pretty much every kid’s favorite food, and my girls are no exception! Anything pizza flavored is always a hit in my house, and these pizza muffins are a fun take on a classic pizza. Best of all, they can be on the table in just 15 minutes!

How to make pizza muffins

To make pizza muffins, you’ll need just 5 ingredients – crescent roll dough, pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni and a sprinkling of parsley.

The first step is to cut your dough into squares. For this recipe, you’ll want to look for crescent roll dough sheets, they come in a can just like regular crescent rolls. The sheet of dough is easily cut into square with the help of a pizza cutter, and each square is pressed into the well of a muffin tin.

Crescent roll dough pressed into a muffin tin forms the crust for pizza muffins.

After you’ve formed the base of your pizza cups, you’ll want to fill them up with pizza sauce, shredded cheese and toppings. I keep things simple and use mini pepperoni as a topping, but other great options would be diced bell pepper, sliced olives or even chopped ham.

Unbaked pizza cups filled with cheese, sauce and pepperoni.

These pizza cups cook quickly in the oven, they’ll be ready to eat in about 10-12 minutes. I like to add a little sprinkling of parsley for added color, but I know some kids (and adults!) can be adverse to the “green stuff”, so feel free to omit that step if needed.

After your pizza muffins come out of the oven, simply cool for a few minutes, then enjoy! This recipe makes 8 pizza muffins, but can easily be doubled or even tripled if you’re feeding a crowd.

These pizza muffins are perfect for a birthday party, or sometimes I serve them alongside a green veggie and call it dinner. While these pizza muffins are always a hit with the kids, adults love them too!

I always keep a roll of crescent dough in the fridge so that I can whip up some pizza cups at a moment’s notice. If you’re a fan of crescent rolls, you’ll definitely want to check out my list of 46 crescent roll recipes, there are tons of ideas for every occasion.
