If you’ve got a can of pizza dough, you can make these garlic rolls that taste like they came from a restaurant. Serve them with a side of marinara for dipping and watch the compliments roll in!
When I go to my favorite local pizzeria, I always have to order a serving of garlic knots. Who can resist those buttery little balls of dough, especially with a dipping sauce on the side? Luckily, these garlic knots are SUPER easy to make at home. They’re the perfect side dish to any Italian meal.
How to make garlic knots
The first step to making garlic knots is to grab a can of pizza dough. It saves so much time compared to trying to make the dough yourself.
You’re going to want to slice the pizza dough into strips and place the strips flat on a pan. Tie each one into a knot, tucking the ends of the knot underneath as you go.
After you’ve got your knots ready to go, you’re going to brush them with a mixture of butter, garlic, herbs and parmesan cheese. Reserve half of your butter mixture so that you can give your garlic rolls a second coating of flavor when they come out of the oven!
After a quick trip through the oven, you’ve got garlic knot perfection. Add that extra butter, then serve the rolls up hot with a side of marinara for dipping.
I always keep a can of pizza dough in the fridge for when a garlic knot craving strikes. These little guys even make a great party appetizer!

3. I like to serve my garlic knots with a side of marinara sauce for dipping.
I want to make these for a gathering after a courthouse wedding. Could I tie them and put in fridge with damp towel til we get home and pop in oven? Or better to make and reheat? Thanks!
It should be fine to refrigerate and bake later!
Made these with croissant dough and it was absolutely delicious!
I made them with my daughter. They cam out so delicious 😋
This sounds really good and I can tell from your reviewers that I must try this but my granddaughter likes cinnamon twist. Any suggestions on how to use your process with making them with cinnamon and sugar? Thanks so much

You’d want to bake the knots plain with no toppings, then after they come out of the oven roll them warm in melted butter and cinnamon sugar.
These were ‘next level’ good! So darn delicious! Thanks so much!
Oh my, these are to die for!
Made them for family dinner night instead of garlic bread…. Yes!
Delicious. I used Trader Joes ready-refrigerated pizza dough. I had to cook mine a bit longer ( I made them too big haha) but OH my goodness. Husband (and his best friend) scarfed them up. Will def. make again. Thanks!
