S’mores Dip Ingredients
To make this s’mores dip recipe you will want to have chocolate chips, large marshmallows and graham crackers. You will also probably want some other fun dippers like fresh fruit, cookies, etc.
How Do You Make S’mores Dip?
This s’mores dip is so easy, you almost don’t need a recipe! First, grab a skillet and some chocolate chips. Place a layer of chocolate chips in your skillet. Melt the chocolate chips in the oven. This will take about 3-4 minutes. Take the skillet out of the oven and carefully add a layer of marshmallows on top of the chocolate chips. Place the skillet back into the oven until the marshmallows turn golden brown on top. Within minutes you’ll end up with the ultimate s’mores dip, with a layer of molten chocolate and golden toasted marshmallows!
Tips For The Perfect S’Mores Dip
- Make sure your skillet is oven safe. If you don’t have an oven safe skillet you can use any similar sized baking dish or baking pan.
- Arrange your marshmallows in a single layer in a circular pattern. This helps the marshmallows to brown evenly.
- I recommend large marshmallows instead of mini marshmallows so you will have a good marshmallow to chocolate ratio.
- This dip is best served immediately, as the marshmallows and chocolate will harden when it cools.
Quick Tip
I use milk chocolate chips, and quality counts here so I recommend using Ghirardelli or Guittard chocolate chips. They melt well and have a good flavor. Don’t use Nestle.
Recipe FAQs
You can reheat s’mores dip by placing the skillet back into the oven at 350 degrees F for about 5 minutes, or until the chocolate and marshmallows are warm and gooey. I do think that this dip is best served fresh, as those golden crispy tops of the toasted marshmallows will soften upon reheating.
In this s’mores dip recipe, you melt marshmallows in the oven by placing them in a skillet and baking them at 350 degrees F for 2-3 minutes. You want to pull them out of the oven when they turn golden brown. Be careful not to let them burn.

Flavor Variations
This s’mores dip is ooey, gooey good as-is; however, you can change up the flavors to suit your taste.
- Chocolate: If you’re a dark chocolate fan, you can use semi sweet chips or do a mix of both dark and milk chocolate!
- Marshmallows: I use regular marshmallows for this dip. However, if you are feeling adventurous you could use different flavored marshmallows like chocolate or strawberry.
- Peanut butter: You could place some dollops of peanut butter on your melted chocolate chips and set marshmallows on top.
- Caramel: Feel free to drizzle some caramel sauce over the melted chocolate chip layer.
- Coconut: You can sprinkle some toasted coconut shreds over your chocolate chips for a vibrant flavor.
This s’mores dip is perfect for a party, or when you’re craving that s’mores flavor in the middle of winter with no camp fire in sight!

This is so delicious! Even better than the real thing! I served it with just graham crackers and it was a hit!
Just made this in a small stainless steel pot. My kids are over the moon. Thanks for reminding me of a common sense way to have s’mores without a fire.
Looks delicious but how is clean up Cast iron skillet is a pain to clean. Canโt use soap or abrasive sponge.
Non stick pan will also work!
Try adding peanut butter on the bottom of the cast iron pan before putting the chocolate chips in. We do ours on our pellet grill when at the trailer. Always a crowd pleaser and so quick and easy to do
can i use a cake pan if i don’t have a skillet?
Yes that’s fine!
