Sometimes you just need an easy dessert without a lot of fanfare and dirty dishes. These Rolo pretzels can be made with a moment’s notice, the hardest part is waiting for them to cool after they’ve come out of the oven!
These pretzels are one of my favorite easy dessert recipes. If you want more easy desserts, try my cookie dough dip, microwave caramels or chocolate covered strawberries.

How Do You Make Rolo Pretzels?
This recipe couldn’t be any easier. To make this Rolo pretzels recipe line a sheet pan or baking sheet with parchment paper. Set the pretzels on the paper. Place an unwrapped Rolo on the center of each pretzel. Place the sheet pan in a preheated oven until the candies just soften. Take the cookie sheet out and press M&M’s candies into each of the caramel candies. Let the pretzels sit until the chocolate firms up. Serve and enjoy!
Tips For The Perfect Rolo Pretzels
- One way you can tell when the Rolos soften is that they start to look shiny.
- I like to use square pretzels because I think they look nicer in this application, but you can also do traditional pretzels if you prefer.
- I typically make these candies around the holidays, which is why I’m using red and green M&M’s. You can use any other color M&M that you like.
- I love to package up these treats in tins and give them as holiday gifts for family, friends and teachers.
- Kids love these treats because they can make them with a little adult help and they can show off their handiwork.
Quick Tip
Make sure not to let the Rolos melt in the oven. You just want them to soften.
Recipe FAQs
You can store Rolo pretzels in an airtight container up to 6 days.
You can freeze these pretzels bites and they will last in the freezer up to 2 months. However, you will want to thaw them before eating them as the frozen caramel in the candies can get quite firm.

Flavor Variations
There are so many different variations on these pretzel bites. Here are some of my favorites
- Hershey Kiss: Swap out the Rolo for a Hershey’s Kiss.
- Turtles: Use pecan halves instead of the M&M’s to make Rolo pretzel turtles.
- Peanut Butter Bites: Use Reese’s Pieces instead of M&M’s.
- Sprinkles: Gently press sprinkles into the warm Rolos.
There’s just something special about that salty-sweet flavor combination and these pretzels have it all. Between the chocolate, crispy pretzels and gooey caramel, this is a treat that no one will be able to resist.
