I love to serve drink recipes that are fun takes on the traditional favorites. Some of my go-to cocktails include a pomegranate margarita, cranberry Moscow mule and this creamy coconut mojito.

Mojitos are one of my favorite drinks to order in a restaurant. The fresh flavors pair well with so many food options. When I’m in the mood for something a little different, I whip up these coconut mojitos at home.

How Do You Make A Coconut Mojito?

Add ice to the cup, then pour in cream of coconut, lime juice and coconut rum. Next, add club soda. Stir everything together, then garnish your drink and serve.

Tips For The Perfect Drink
- It’s important to use a muddler to crush the mint. This tool helps to release all the flavors from the mint, and will produce a more authentic tasting drink.
- This recipe calls for cream of coconut, which is a syrup made of coconut cream and sugar. Do not use coconut milk or canned coconut cream, as the flavor will not be the same.
- The ingredients listed in the recipe are for one drink. You can easily scale up the ingredients for a larger group by changing the number of servings in the recipe card.
Quick Tip
For an extra special drink, brush a little honey or simple syrup onto the rim of the glass, then dip the rim in shredded coconut.

Flavor Variations
While this drink is delicious as-is, you can customize some of the ingredients to suit your tastes.
- Fruit: You can swap out the cream of coconut for tropical fruit juices such as mango nectar, pineapple juice, passion fruit puree or guava nectar.
- Soda: Try using lime sparkling water instead of club soda.
- Rum: You can use regular white rum instead of coconut rum for a less pronounced coconut flavor.
