Raspberry Margarita Ingredients

To make a raspberry margarita, you will need fresh raspberries, triple sec, tequila blanco (silver tequila), agave nectar, fresh lime juice, salt and granulated sugar. You can garnish your drink with fresh berries, mint sprigs and lime slices.
How Do You Make A Raspberry Margarita?
Place the sugar and salt on a small plate, and stir to combine. Dip the rim of glass in water, then set the rim onto the plate of sugar and salt. Turn the glass upright. Place the raspberries and agave nectar in the bottom of a cocktail shaker. Use a muddler tool to mash the raspberries. Add ice to the shaker, then pour in the triple sec, tequila and lime juice. Seal the shaker, then shake well. Place some ice cubes in your glass, then strain the drink into the glass. Garnish with fresh berries, lime wedges and mint, then serve.

Tips For The Perfect Drink
- The built in strainer on cocktail shakers will strain some, but not all of the raspberry seeds out of the drink. If you prefer a completely smooth drink, pour the drink through a fine mesh sieve before you put it into your serving glass.
- This recipe makes one drink. You can easily make margaritas for a crowd by changing the number of servings in the recipe card, and the ingredient amounts will automatically recalculate.
- I recommend using fresh berries for the best results. If you only have frozen raspberries on hand, you’ll want to thaw them before use. Frozen berries tend to be more tart than fresh, so you may also want to increase the amount of agave nectar.
Quick Tip
If you don’t have a cocktail shaker you can use a sealed Mason jar instead. Just be sure to strain the drink through a separate strainer before you pour it into the glass.

Flavor Variations
This drink is delicious as-is, but you can easily customize some of the ingredients to suit your tastes.
- Fruit: Swap out the raspberries for a different type of fruit such as blackberries, strawberries or cherries.
- Alcohol: You can use tequila reposado instead of tequila blanco. Mezcal is also a good substitute for tequila. While I typically use Cointreau triple sec, you can try a different orange liqueur such as Grand Marnier. Or, swap in a raspberry liqueur for extra flavor.

Raspberry Margarita

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup fresh raspberries
- ¾ ounce agave syrup
- 1 ounce triple sec
- 1½ ounces tequila blanco
- 1 ounce lime juice
- lime slices, fresh raspberries and mint sprigs for garnish
Instructions
- Place the sugar and salt on a small plate and stir to combine. Dip the rim of a glass in water and place the rim on the plate.
- Turn the glass on the plate to coat the rim, then place the glass upright.
- Add the raspberries and agave syrup to a cocktail shaker, and use a muddler to crush the raspberries.
- Add ice to the shaker, along with the triple sec, tequila and lime juice. Seal, then shake well.
- Place ice in the cup, then strain the cocktail into the glass. Pouring this drink through the built-in strainer in a cocktail shaker will still leave some seeds in the drink. For a completely smooth drink, pour the drink through a fine mesh sieve into your glass.
- Garnish the drink with raspberries, limes and mint, then serve.
Notes
- Fresh raspberries work best in this drink. You can use frozen berries if that’s what you have on hand, but be sure to thaw them first. Frozen berries may also not be as sweet as fresh, so you may need to add more agave.
- This recipe makes one drink. If you need margaritas for a crowd, simply change the number of servings and the ingredient amounts will recalculate.
