This Sonic style cherry limeade is fizzy, refreshing and perfect for a hot day! Best of all, it’s ready in just 5 minutes.

If you’re a Sonic fan, or simply looking for an easy summery drink, this cherry limeade recipe is for you. It contains just a handful of ingredients and is perfect for a hot day!

Sometimes you just need a fun and festive drink that hits the spot on a hot day. This cherry limeade is cool, refreshing and couldn’t be any easier to make. Skip the trip to Sonic and make a big pitcher of cherry limeade at home instead!

How do you make cherry limeade?

To make cherry limeade, you’ll need just a handful of ingredients, including limeade concentrate, a jar of maraschino cherries and a bottle of lemon lime soda. You can find limeade concentrate in cans in the freezer section of most grocery stores.

The first step is to whisk together the limeade concentrate and the whole jar of maraschino cherries, juice and all! Go for the maraschino cherries without stems; while the stems look prettier, you don’t want them floating around in your limeade.

The next step is to pour in a bottle of lemon lime soda, then add plenty of ice and serve!

Soda, cherries, cherry juice and limeade in a pitcher.

While you can serve this cherry limeade as is, I HIGHLY recommend loading it up with garnishes like fresh sliced limes and sprigs of mint. The springs of mint are not included in the traditional Sonic recipe, but I find it really adds to the refreshment factor and looks pretty. It’s up to you whether you choose to include them or not.

This cherry limeade is great for birthday parties or summer events. Everyone just gravitates towards the bright red color and refreshing taste!

I don’t know about you, but we’re sure going to be drinking cherry limeade all summer long. My kids love searching for the cherries in their cup and I love that I can have this fun drink ready with minimal effort!
