Ingredients

  • 2 ounces tequila blanco
  • 1 ounce triple sec
  • 3 slices jalapeno pepper
  • 1 ounce lime juice
  • 1 ounce orange juice
  • ½ ounce agave syrup
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • jalapeno slices and limes for garnish

Instructions

  • Place some ice cubes in a cocktail shaker. Add the tequila, triple sec and jalapeno to the shaker
  • Let the mixture sit for 3-5 minutes so the peppers can infuse into the liquor. The longer it sits, the spicier it will be.
  • Add the lime juice, orange juice and agave syrup.
  • Dip the rim of a glass in water. Place the rim of the glass onto the plate of salt and sugar, and twist to coat. Turn the glass upright.
  • Place the sugar and salt on a small plate and stir to combine.
  • Add ice to the glass. Seal the cocktail shaker and shake to combine.
  • Strain the drink into the prepared glass. Garnish with limes and pepper slices, then serve.

Notes

  1. This recipe calls for a cocktail shaker. If you don't have one on hand, you can use a mason jar instead.
  2. The ingredients listed here make one drink. You can easily scale up the ingredients for a larger crowd by changing the serving size on the recipe card.
  3. Use serrano peppers for an extra spicy drink.
