Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups avocado sliced
  • 1/2 cup cilantro leaves
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons jalapeno seeds and ribs removed, then coarsely chopped
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • cilantro leaves for garnish

Instructions

  • Place the avocado, cilantro leaves, lime juice, jalapeno, sour cream, salt, cumin and garlic powder in the bowl of a food processor.
  • Process until completely smooth, 1-2 minutes. Taste and add more salt if desired.
  • Garnish with cilantro leaves, then serve.

Notes

  1. This dip is best served right after it's made as the avocado will brown over an extended period of time.
  2. You can make this a chunky dip by combining all the ingredients in a bowl and crushing them together with a fork or potato masher.
  3. This dip is on the mild end of the heat scale because the seeds and ribs are removed from the jalapenos. If you prefer a spicy dip, leave some of the seeds and ribs in the pepper.
