Homemade BBQ Sauce
This homemade BBQ sauce is a blend of tomato, spices, cider vinegar and brown sugar, all simmered together to create a thick and rich condiment that's perfect for any barbecue. Homemade barbecue sauce is SO much better than the store bought kind!

2 cups ketchup 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar 5 tablespoons brown sugar 2 tablespoons honey 1 1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 2 1/2 teaspoons smoked paprika 1 teaspoon dry mustard 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon pepper 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce or more to taste
Place all the ingredients in a pan over medium low heat. Stir to combine.
Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low. Simmer for 8-10 minutes or until thickened.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week, or freeze for up to 3 months.
Look for ketchup that is organic or conventional ketchup that is not sweetened with high fructose corn syrup.
Be sure to use smoked paprika, not regular paprika. Smoked paprika can be found in almost every grocery store and is not expensive.
